This trail is called Northern Rivers Rail Trail in New South Wales. The first section was completed in March this year and is just over 25 km one way. It starts at Murwillumbah and ends at Crabbs Creek. It will eventually go all the way to Casino via Byron Bay. That will be an amazing trail in the future.
Well, this first part is very family friendly. Mainly flat with a few hills and has a great tunnel through a mountain. There are 3 places to stop for a coffee along the way. We passed a variety of users on the path from cyclists, horse riders, joggers and dog walkers. Everyone was very friendly, and we had perfect crisp August weather with blue skies.
On arrival there is plenty of parking and facilities for having a picnic or a drink. This is the case all the way along the trail.
All in all it is a lovely way to spend the day.
